T.H.D. Returns After 10 Year Silence, Signs to 23db Records!
23db Records is proud to announce the addition of T.H.D. to our roster. Readers may remember the band from their several critically-acclaimed releases through Hard, Cleopatra, and Pendragon Records in the mid to late 90's. Now, 10 years since their last release, they're back with a brand new, digital-only album entitled "The Evolution of Our Decay", which will be out on April 28th through iTunes, iTunes Canada, iTunes UK/European Union, iTunes Australia/New Zealand, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, eMusic, Napster, Lala, Amie Street, and Shockhound. The album picks up where 1999's "Under a Statik Sky" left off and mixes the echoes of seminal acts like Cabaret Voltaire and Lassigue Bendthaus with the retro-futuristic, heavily analog sound T.H.D.'s fans know them for.

As a special thank you to their fans, T.H.D. will also release a free, 10-track EP entitled "Subconscious Drip" consisting of entirely different material than what is on the album. This will be available for download on April 28th via: http://www.assemblage23.com/THD.html

The EP will optionally be available for purchase through all the outlets listed above should any fans wish to show an extra bit of support.

Assemblage 23 Rarities part 2 CD pre-orders being taken
From the website:

"I've opened up pre-orders for Early, Rare, and Unreleased Volume 2 on the Assemblage 23 Online Store. Remember, this is limited to 1000 copies, so once it's gone, it's gone. Also, even though the release date is February 10th, there is a pretty strong possibility I will be able to ship these by February 1st or thereabouts, so pre-orders will actually ship out a week early! These can also be signed upon request, just indicate in the special instructions of the order form that you'd like it signed."

Link here: http://www.assemblage23.com/store.html#rarities2

Just fyi, this CD will feature the cover of "Love My Way" that a lot of people seemed to enjoy during Tom's early days.

Last Philadelphia Venue Change
OK, there is a problem with the new Philly venue, so there is yet another change. Please read if you are going to the Philly show:

"The venue to which we moved this show, Whiskey Dix, lost it's lease. It has been a race against time for the lawyers to get the place open again before our Oct 7th show. They still tell me that they don't know if it will be open or not.

The new Venue website is:
www.newAlhambra.com

The address is:
7 Ritner St.
Philadelphia, PA 19148.

The New Alhambra is on Swanson St that runs behind club Risque on Deleware Ave. It is just under the 95 over pass attached to a Forman Mills discount store. There will be street teamers out in front of Whiskey Dix, handing out fliers to anyone who shows up there with the new address and directions

Please spread the word as swiftly as possible."

New Orleans also cancelled
From the band:

"In addition to having to cancel this evening's show in Nashville, I regret to announce that we also have to cancel our Wednesday show in New Orleans. We brought the van in to the dealership this morning and it turns out that we need an entirely new transmission and the soonest they can get it in is most likely on Wednesday. We apologize once again to our fans in the area, but obviously a blown transmission is not something the van can just 'walk off'. We do not anticipate any more cancellations. "

Nashville show cancelled
From Tom:

It is with great regret that I have to announce that Assemblage 23's Nashville date this Monday the 24th has to be cancelled. About 5 miles outside of Fayetteville, AR, the torque converter on our van blew, making it impossible for the van to drive above 30 MPH and drive up anything more than a slight incline. Being that tomorow is Sunday, the soonest we will be able to get it repaired is Monday, and the drive is too long for us to be able to make it to Nashville on time. We apologize deeply for any disappointment or inconvenience this causes, but obviously, this is something that was out of our control and we are doing our best to rectify the problem so no further cancellations are necessary. The Fayetteville show tonight WILL be happening, so PLEASE come out and say hello. After the day we've had, we could really use the lift in spirits! Thanks

US tour - Philly venue change
Philadelphia Show Venue Changed
The Assemblage 23 show in Philadelphia will no longer be held at Grape Street due to bouncers at that venue allegedly beating up members of an opening band at the recent Birthday Massacre show there. According to witnesses, members of the band Suicide City got into a dispute over payment with the staff, and the bouncers physically assaulted them (including a female member) and allegedly robbed them. Obviously, this is not the sort of venue we are interested in playing both for our own safety and for the safety of our fans. Therefore, the Assemblage 23 show will now be held at Whiskey Dix , 7th and Willow (on the side of the Electric Factory) 421 North 7th Street Philadelphia, PA 19123. Tickets will now be made available for purchase at www.intrepidJAM.com. People who have already purchased tickets for the Grape Street show will have their tickets honored at this show, so no worries there.

Assemblage 23 US tour date information
All Tour dates located here (sorry, WAY too much info to even post behind a cut, so you'll just have to click the link to see if they'll be showing up in your city):
http://www.assemblage23.com/live.html

And further A23 news:

"Tour Update: Tallahassee, FL Canceled, Richmond, VA Added
We regret to announce that we have had to cancel the Tallahassee date of the upcoming US tour. This was due to the booker at the venue in question not being able to get the signed contract back to us within 6 weeks. The band apologizes to their Tallahassee fans for the inconvenience, but obviously they expect a certain level of professionalism from the people they work with that was not met in this case. In happier news, the last minute addition of a Richmond, VA show has joined the tour roster. To view the full tour listing with additional info, please visit the LIVE section of the Assemblage 23 Web Page.

Special Tour CD Expanded!
A couple of weeks ago, a special CD of Assemblage 23 early, rare, and unreleased tracks to be exclusively available on the US tour was announced. Originally, this was supposed to be a 10 track CD, but because some of the earlier tracks are a bit shorter than current A23 tracks generally are, the decision was made to add 4 additional tracks to the CD to make it a better value for fans. The final track order has yet to be decided, but the additional tracks, "The Angels Died (1994)", "Straightjacket (1988)", "Anger (1992)", and "Void (1998)" are the new additions. As previously mentioned, the CD is strictly limited to 1,000 copies and will only be available on the US tour. To accommodate our fans outside the US, or areas where the tour will reach, 50 copies will be set aside and will be made available through The Assemblage 23 Online Store immediately following the conclusion of the US tour. Expect these to be available on or around October 24th, and don't delay your order, as these will probably go fast!

Assemblage 23 Catalog Available on MySpace Through Snocap
Visitors to the Assemblage 23 MySpace can now digitally buy any track from the band's US discography directly from the MySpace itself via the Snocap service.

AFI Side-Project Single Featuring A23 Remix to be Available at Hot Topic
Blaqk Audio, the new electronic side-project from alternative rockers AFI, will release its first single "Stiff Kittens" on Interscope Records exclusively at Hot Topic on July 31st. In addition to the album mix, the single features remixes from Assemblage 23, Richard Morel, and Junior Sanchez."
